This workshop will be an examination, demonstration and discussion of the skills, techniques and influences in the world of acoustic folk and roots guitar. Questions concerning all aspects of acoustic guitar craft from theory to practice to equipment will be answered.

The ultimate aim of this workshop is to point you and roots guitarist in the general direction of more creative and full accompaniment by way of reference to the tried and true traditions of the guitar. Particular emphasis will be placed on fingerpicking styles and their use and stylistic application. Flatpicking will also be covered. Some important and fundamental tunes and styles will be analysed as signposts.
