Drawing from life and observation is an absorbing and fulfilling process that immerses us in
the moment. This workshop will draw from a still life based on the theme of a ‘tea party.’
Using charcoal and pencil, we will look at both form and decoration to move the image beyond just observation.
Participants must bring a small sketchbook, charcoal, graphite lead and coloured pencils, and a kneadable eraser.
Drawing paper supplied.
I have been living and working as an artist and art teacher in Northeast Victoria for more 30yrs.
I’ve always loved the activity of life drawing and focusing on observational skills to support my practice. My work has been around the themes of life and life process. My work has utilised small-scale, intimate works to larger-scale drawing and painting. In addition to this, I’ve worked in soft sculpture.
