Come and create beautiful blue and white textiles, using organic indigo dye resist, shibori and clamping techniques. 

Tutor will supply: indigo dye and chemicals. The cost for the dye and chemicals is included in your workshop fee.

Participant to bring: Own prepared fabrics and personal art materials. Instructions will be sent out when booking has been received.

Artist Bio

Julie Ryder is a textile designer who has gained international recognition for her work with natural dyes and holds an MA in Textiles from the ANU. Originally trained in science, Julie has taught in tertiary institutions and community organizations for over 28 years. Julie has been the recipient of many awards, grants, commissions and residencies and exhibited in over 20 solo and 150 group exhibitions worldwide. Her work is represented in many public and private collections, including the NGA, NGV, MAAS, AGSA, BRAG, CSIRO, ANBG, Tamworth Regional Gallery, and the Textiel Museum in the Nederlands.  www.julieryder.com.au   Instagram: @julierydertextiles
