Workshop Description
Does your wardrobe need a stylish lift?
Let talented local artist Isabel Young introduce natural dyeing techniques using suitable
local plant species. Learn about fabrics, applying mordants, setting up a home dye station, and responsible plant collection.
Participants will create their own stunning silk scarf in the workshop and learn the techniques to go home and dye everything they own! ( no, not really!)
Isabel will provide silk scarves, yarn, Alum mordant
Artist Bio
Isabel Nina Young is a textiles and surface designer based in Wangaratta, specializing in screen printing. A Studio Textiles and Design graduate from RMIT, she draws inspiration
from native botanicals and the Australian landscape. Her work embodies slow fashion principles, creating timeless, usable art. While focused on screen-printed textiles, Isabel also
explores natural dyeing with local species, ceramics, weaving, bookbinding, basket making, and wool spinning.
