Workshop Description
Be part of a unique take on ensemble playing led by Adam Simmons. Drawing upon his experiences with Australian Art Orchestra, Bennetts Lane Band, The Pearly Shells and as leader of the Wangaratta Horns of Death, Adam returns to welcome one and all to share in this ear-opening jazz workshop.
Artist Bio
Adam Simmons is a Melbourne-based artist, composer, educator, advocate and data analyst. He has been involved across many scenes within Melbourne and beyond, performing contemporary jazz, punk, afro-beat, new music, traditional Japanese honkyo-ku, funk, and free noise/improv. He has curated various events, including the
Festival of Slow Music, Wangaratta Festival of Jazz & Blues (2017-18), and is engaged in sector advocacy and advising artists via his arts consultancy, The Usefulness of Art. Adam is also the editor and co-founder of Dingo, a bi-annual Australian jazz journal.
